Naija Youth and the celebration of mediocrity

I have spent time in observation of trends manifesting within the country Nigeria. My submission is thus driven by a strong conviction that Nigeria is a country that celebrates mediocrity and aligns it self with propaganda whenever it suits self. By Nigeria i mean Nigerians.
First to go is Mama Peace and her EFCC trial. I have read so many articles justifying the cash in Mama' s possession and so many calling the media trial as a shameful attempt to ridicule GEJ's name and diminish his ever rising international profile. However true this may be... I must say that Nigerians are the problem of Nigeria. A first lady in custody of ##million dollars and you try to justify that? yes Buhari has made a mess of the whole anti-corruption campaign with previous misdeeds and in-actions. Buratai, Rotimi and his aides come to mind. But is this to say we should not ask the right and proper question of where Mama Peace got her money or rather still, her monies from? I hear people in her defence say she was a former 2nd lady in Bayelsa, a former 2nd lady of Nigeria, first lady of Nigeria and ooo lest i forget first lady of Bayelsa too. Rumor has it that she is a permanent secretary in one of the money spinning ministries in Bayelsa abi na Rivers. This conjugated with the recent revealing claim of former governor Obi that the office of the first lady gulps 2billion naira monthly serves as justification to some for the money found with her. Lies and Lies... only corruption and a corrupt person will be in the keep of such amount of money with no known or traced business conglomerate. But many Youths based on party affiliation have pitched their already wrecked tents in defence of Mama.
Second is the issue of my very amiable and charismatic governor. Ayo Fayose, i have a likeness for this man that transcends beyond me and him sharing the first name of Ayodele. He is an enigma and all those other adjectives his teeming followers use in his qualification.
However, Fayose went ahead to give out cars to the best teachers of the secondary and primary school teachers in the state. This fit would have been enviable had it occurred during a healthy economy where people had food to eat. The catalogue of unpaid salaries which though is not an issue peculiar to Ekiti alone should have seen Mr Governor kept his spending spree on a low key even if he was trying to encourage teachers following the placement and performance of Ekiti pupils at the recently released NECO results. No celebration would have been more worthy than for all the owed teachers getting their pay after such devoted services with great output marked. Fayose is a Man that enjoys constructive criticism and listens to his people. However this time he was not listening to the signs of hunger, suffering and swelling debt profile plaguing people that work as civil servants in the state. Yet some youths were glad to post pictures in celebration of Oshoko on a day set aside to celebrate teachers who are generation builders and could elect to destroy a generation too.
Thirdly the Edo election is a fraud in all ramification. Yet youths celebrate because their favorite political party won even when they are not a registered member of the party. My point is, a registered member of any of the parties would gladly accept any victory for his/her party in whatever form or way the victory is attained. Wetin cum b pesin wey jst dey Taraba wt no link to Edo dey jubilate say one party win becus say e like the party? The moment we start separating individuals from parties that moment we will have matured politically. Youths tend to forget that their futures are determined by the choices made and decisions reached today. Fayemi in Ekiti, though not a politician by my rating... would have performed excellently well if he never had to go through the rigours of appearing in the court room to get his mandate. Yes he won at the court but with whose monies was he servicing the litigation process? and you think such a loan will not be serviced later? check out the catalogue of debt in Ekiti and you will understand better. Buhari would have been a better president if he was elected on the platform of ANPP or CPC. Then He was the all in all of the afore mentioned parties I voiced out that in 2011 and hitherto elections, Buhari had no money to tour the 36 states of the federation hence this affected his acceptability and popularity in some areas. In 2015 Amaechi had Rivers money to spend and there was Tinubu and co... Powers Baba will have to satiate if he gets there... and if Baba wears his truly disciplined and uncompromising look that means he will have to fight fight and fight. The implications of these two are simple... if Sai baba elects to satiate his election pay masters then doomed is the entire anti corruption crusade. And if the general selects to fight then he will spend most of his tenure playing politics. Be quick to note that it was the politics been played by Jonathan that led to the crash of the PDP and his subsequent loss in the election. Baba adopted both strategies, fight and compromise. see where we are now? This is the same thing that will manifest in Edo in the not too distant future and all the youths celebrating failure will be left to eat their fingers.
INEC has failed to conduct a credible election since May 2015... even in areas won by the opposition, it was marked with great criminality and subversion of the peoples will, take the emergence of David mark during the Benue re- run as case study and you are not far from reality. yet some yeye peoples (Nigerian English) celebrate trash and mediocre elements.... Osho f..... na dey again ooo and Adam go....
As for Tinubu and his travails. No surprise what so ever from my angle. I remember shortly after Buhari's emergence as president elect. My friend and fellow historian, Ayobami Omolara Xtacy had rushed to social media to give kudos to Jagaban for finally slaying the PDP. I had my reservations because from my calculations APC' s victory had more to do with other persons contributions other than Tinubu's. Although this is a say for another day, my skeptism was birthed from the foetus of fear for Jagaban. Look at Awo and see how he ended without fulfilling his great dream. Tinubu remains the closest Yoruba land came to replacing Awo but just like Awo he may be failing already. In 1958/59 the expected calculation was Awo/ Zik or Zik/Awo any way you put it no body ever expected a union of Zik/ Balewa or Awo/ Balewa. It did however happen and Awo became the voice of opposition until he was recruited by the then military government of Gowon.
Although in a not too similar re-occurrence. Tinubu who in 2001 was talking and criticizing Awo and Zik for not doing enough to create a political bond between east and west and had promised to better east/west political romance. Soon He found himself as the undisputed leader of opposition. He also became too attracted like Awo to central governance and see where he is headed. For Awo it was the great Akintola Are ona kakanfo himself, for Tinubu his enemies are in numbers and they all want him politically incapacitated. And some people still dey rejoice? its ok ooooo If Tinubu will fall let him fall to constitutional power answering to the many alleged corrupt practices he has partaken in and not to the demonic and selfish schemes and orchestrations of  some powers that be.
Naija youths shine ya eyes... celebrate what is right not mediocre shits.... like the F.M Royal will always say " make una no sidon look oo
Ayodele Kelvin
